We wandered outside, and heard it was some electrical thing in the kitchen. Found ashley (the same one who was stalking me - maybe she wasn't lying) and sat with her during the drill. came back in after about 15 minutes, and I stayed up - decided I should print one more, and reprint another one that had been a ilttle lighter than I had wanted it.
Went down, both roz and Lindsey's friend (I can never remember her name!) were in the main photo lab - the other one, apparently, had exhausted stop bath. Roz had worked all throughout the night, as had several others (She ended up finishing around 11:30am.) Did my two more prints, got out of there. Thought about having breakfast, decided not to waste a meal on it, since i probably wouldn't eat much anyway. Came back up to the room, killed a bit more time, then took off for music. Paid little->no attention during that ( started writing this, actually...) went to math, got my exam back. Got an 86... Not a bad score for a calc 3 class, but it may keep me out of the A range that I was really hoping for. It looks like I'm going to have to do REALLY well on this final to have a chance at that A. Ah well - I'll get what I can get. People always say it's not the grades that matter, it's the education you get. Perosnally, I think they're lying, but that's what they say.
After math, Christy and I came up here and studied for chem a little bit. We flipped through the book and looked at different kind of problems and basically said "I know how to do that, I don't know how to do that." so that we could ask questions of our respective TA's. I went to my last science and society class. Went to Chem, asked the questions I didn't know the answers to. Came back, and in surprisingly little relative time, I wasted 2 hours doing jack shit around here before my chem exam. I installed cgi/perl on my apache webserver, then installed PHP, then installed Gallery. That's right, I have an online photo gallery on my webpage! It's available from http://peanut.sytes.net/gallery/ . There's an album called "Your Submissions" - I really want you guys to throw pictures of ______ (insert somethign here). (You can add photos via the "[add photos]" link in the upper right). I don't care what you put pictures of. As long as they aren't obscene, they'll stay. I've also got a bunch of my old albums from other places stuck in there - I'm working on sorting, keywording, and everything them. Anything taken with a digicam has a date on it. You can see properties of different photos by clicking the "Photo properties" link on any of the pictures. There's also an "Add Comment" link on any of the picture pages. Let me know what you think! (And yes, I knwo to some of you this is old stuff, but to me, it's really fun and interesting and addicting.)
Took Chemistry test at 5:30. Came back, got my stuff together and went to photo. Everyone had really cool projects (although some of them seemed rather technically lacking) - they were all VERY fun and interesting to look at. Brad kind of ripped my project apart though - I did The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost... I took very literal images. Bushes, trees, paths - I wandered around for somewhere between 4 and 5 hours on Saturday taking these pictures that I loved. He basically slammed me because I didn't capture what the poem was "about". Wonderful. Thanks. I liked my project anyway - I think the prints came out really well, and it made me happy to create and share my opinions on it with him, even if he did hate it. :) Hopefully he won't be so cruel as to actually give it a bad grade because of how he feels about my interpretation. because if he does.... well, i won't be happy. Got out of photo at 9. Picked a picture I didn't want to keep to be matted/framed (cause i want to give my good prints out to friends as christmas gifts and so on.) Came back and played with Gallery til around 2/2:30 am. (later? don't remember.)
Woke up around 8:00/8:30 (VERY unwillingly). Went to CS, sat through it. All we did was talk about paradoxes.
The Epimenides Paradox:
1. Epimenides is a Cretan.
2. Epimenides states, "All Cretans are liars."
And some others:
"This sentence is false."
"The next sentence is true. The previous sentence is false."
I couldn't help but think of Bart Simpson:
"You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't." (From Ep. 1, where Bart goes to the Genius School because he switches his scores with martins.)
Anyway, got out of that, and came back and continued to play with Gallery :) It's all i've done lately. But it's so damn fun! I love it. Went to chem at 1, Learned redox chemistry (kinda cool, imho.).
Came back here, and jsut sat around. Don't have any homework, closest final is still 5 days away... I just needed a bit of me time. So, that's what I've done all night. It's been fun. Got to laugh at the person who made a support request that using ascii's goathack didn't work. Silly users. (If you don't get why that's funny, don't worry about it.) I laughed ;)
One more thing I did - Interim Privs sending out "Welcome" emails to support volunteers is going to be restarting. So, I took some old bits and pieces and rewrote that email. Not sure what people think of it yet - I didn't post it until people had started to drift away for the evening, I think, so I don't have a lot of comments yet. If you have Interim Privs, go check it out! Welcome email.
I also changed the font in Semagic to MS Mincho. I really like it. It's monospaced, but very cool and square like. I think I may make a style with it that'll be useable when i'm home for break (meaning no images). I like it that much :)
Seriously, I want everyone to upload pictures of themselves into the "your submissions" album on my Gallery! Please! I want to feel popular ;)
That's about all for now. Night Everyone. (Sorry for the two posts today - Wanted to get something up before everyone went to bed, and I can NEVER concentrate on just writing a post. :))
