During my vacation, my sleep schedule shifted: I was falling asleep around 1 and waking up around 9 (or later). This is a weird thing for me: for various reasons, I've been getting up approximately 6:30AM since around 5th grade, so the fact that I was sleeping past 8 for almost a week straight is a very different thing.

Since I didn't have anything going on, this wasn't a big deal: the girls were off school, I was off work, I could stay u late playing video games and nobody was going to yell at me... until this week, when Julie started her summer school program, and I needed to be up at 6:30 so I could drag her out of bed.

This transition has not gone smoothly.

I haven't fallen asleep before 12:30 for most of this week, and sometimes not until 2am. But I still need to get up at 6:30. This has gone somewhat poorly for me all week.

Well, yesterday I got back from an errand I was running until 11, and I passed out instantly. Like, head hit the pillow, went o reach for my kindle and I was already asleep crashed out. It was crazy, even for me, and I'm used to falling asleep quickly.

Of course, since I've gotten so *little* sleep the past week, this isn't actually enough to let me feel awake -- but it's better than nothing. :)
